Painting & Printmaking
Caroline is a Waikato-based painter and printmaker whose work blends experimental techniques with deep personal and environmental reflection. Her art explores local landscapes, architecture, derelict buildings, and found objects, using colour, texture, and sustainable materials to evoke emotion and memory. Influenced by her background in Zoology (University of Otago) and Architectural Technology (Wintec), Caroline’s work often merges structural form with organic elements.
In 2024, Caroline fulfilled a long-held dream to paint under the Tuscan sun, completing residencies in Serrazzano and Milan. There, she created a body of work inspired by Tuscan villages, using non-toxic printmaking techniques and natural materials like feathers and porcupine quills to reflect ancient storytelling and transformation.
Caroline is a printmaking tutor at the Waikato Society of Arts, where she nurtures creative growth through experimental relief-based techniques. Her work is a visual diary - capturing resilience, connection, and the courage to pursue creative freedom.
