Hahei-based artist Caroline Courtney paints and sculpts, producing work that typically conveys ocean-related themes, people and wildlife as well as local landscapes.

When painting, she works mainly in acrylics and oil pastels, occasionally in charcoal and has recently begun transitioning into using all natural, mix-your-own-oils, manufactured in the US by Natural Earth Pigments. Her clay sculptures - typically busts and wildlife studies - are all fired in her own kiln on her property.
