We are seven artists within the Whitianga Art Group Incorporated. Our visual artworks are painted using acrylic paint, oil paint and cold wax with oil. Our works selected for the exhibition represent a diverse range in style from modern contemporary abstract, landscape, portraiture, still life, and pointillism. Motivation and inspiration for our art generates from the amazing environment on the Coromandel Peninsula, collaborative ideas within the group setting, and the challenges we set ourselves individually to learn about art and using art processes.

Our main objective is to promote the study, practice, and appreciation of the arts by members and the public. We provide tuition for beginning artists, regularly engage artists to run workshops at the Art Centre, hold annual exhibitions, open the centre to the public for sales during holiday periods, feature a monthly artist, teach art classes for students from a local Language School and connect with other Art Groups.
