Light , colour , strong composition and layers upon layers of paint and glazes create the imagery that is a Souzie Speerstra painting. Influenced by the graphics from my training as a photolithographer and the avant guard ‘ Blue Rider’ Artists of a Europe past , my paintings are a unique geometric interpretation of the world I live in.

Beautiful Coromandel beaches , surrounding islands we visit by boat and our JetSkis , our large bountiful gardens surrounding my home studio and gallery. This is what I paint and this is what makes me happy…. My life.

I have been a working artist since 1990 and earned my spot as a New Zealand Artist through years of successful Exhibitions and showcasing my works in Auckland Galleries such as The Lane Gallery , Remuera Gallery , Parnell Gallery , Artport Gallery (international airport) and finally the Dealer gallery S.O.C.A in Newmarket. With overseas work featured in the Singapore Country Club and Representing New Zealand in the Exhibition Opening the Changi Airport. As well as many Expat Kiwis living abroad.

After moving to the Coromandel with my partner Lance I was represented by Bread And Butter Gallery in Whitianga and now Inspirit Gallery in Tamahere , as well as my home gallery.
