I’m a painter drawn to the wild beauty and remote places of Aotearoa. Each of my paintings begins with time spent in the landscape: walking, kayaking, swimming, surfing: sitting quietly, noticing light, weather and the feeling of the place.
Back in the studio, I work in layers of acrylic to capture both the physical structure and the emotional atmosphere of these places. Through my art, I hope to evoke memories of journeys taken, and inspire others to explore and care for the wild spaces, flora and fauna so special to our land.
