Flax Weaving and Photography
LOCATION:

Thirteen years ago I began learning traditional weaving techniques and graduated with a Bachelor of Maori Visual Art.
My favourite creations are a variety of one-off sculptured bodices made from harakeke (NZ flax). Lately I have been exploring new fibres and techniques . . . looping, twining, coiling and random weaving with a range of natural and foraged fibres including raffia, rattan, jute, paper, hemp and garden plants.
I love to document and photograph my work, which has resulted in a range of limited edition prints, alongside my greeting card series.
Workshops are held during Art Escape with Chasing Mercury Art Workshops and independently at other times during the year.
