It’s all go for the Mercury Bay Art Escape 2023

PRESS RELEASE

16 June 2022

After a difficult 2022 and a disappointing Covid-related postponement, the Mercury Bay Art Escape is all go for the first 2 weekends in March 2023. As the proverb says “Every delay has it’s blessings” and we certainly believe this is true, as it has not only provided time for artists who were out of the country to return to Mercury Bay, but it has also proven to be an awakening at how important this event is to our area and how popular it is - not only to locals, but to the regular visitors who frequent the eastern Coromandel.

“The Mercury Bay Art Escape is an integral fortnight on the Coromandel Peninsula Arts and Tourism calendar. Besides being a professional platform for our artists to share their work to the public, it is also an opportunity for businesses to extend their product offerings and of course, supports the local economy prior to the quiet winter months.“ says Stuart Christie, new Chairman of Mercury Bay Art Escape.

The 2022 Art Escape is not lost as, the Mercury Bay Art Escape members are keen to extend an invitation throughout the year to welcome visitors for viewings by appointment. If you fancy an inspiring road trip feel free to call the artists using their info on our website or we encourage our art lovers to use the existing 2022 guide available at I-sites.
