MBAE Open Studio Tour 2016 to showcase students work

March 1, 2016

In March 2016 the Senior Visual Art Students of Mercury Bay Area School will be included in the Art Escape Open Studio Tour as guest exhibitors. In the last 2 years three students of the Mercury Bay Area School have been recipients of a Mercury Bay Art Escape Trust Scholarship and to recognise this the Trust has included the school’s senior art students in the next Open Studio Tour. They will be showcasing painting, printmaking, photography, design, mixed media, sculpture and drawing so that visitors can appreciate the achievements of our students at school.

“This partnership recognises the students achievements and is another way the Trust can engage with the school and community and promote its activities,” said Trust Chairman Stuart Christie.

In December Year 12 students Renee Royal and Joseph Morcom were announced as recipients of 2016 Mercury Bay Art Escape Trust Scholarships which give support and encouragement to young emerging artists allowing them to progress to the next level of professional artistic development.
