Painting, garden art
Inspiration is never a problem for me, in fact I have more ideas than time!
I am always keen to learn new mediums and styles to combine with artworks.
I specialise in Acrylic realistic birds, animals, Classic cars and landscapes. Kiwiana and under sea life , Maori and pacific themes and NZ flora & fauna often appear in my works. I have created my own cartoon characters of quirky "Freaky Fish" and "My monster friends" which are fun to explore and appeal to children and adults.
I also love making garden art using glass, ceramics, mixed metals and recycled wood. This year I've delved into more mosaic, challenging myself with bigger more complicated designs. I have also dabbled with pottery and glazing.
I love to combine mediums to create more interesting works. This year I've also made a lot of abstract flow art paintings which are proving to be a successful merge with my other styles.
Since the last Art Escape I have opened up my studio space to teach adult and teen art classes. This is not only rewarding and inspirational for my students but for me too, as I observe them improving and gaining new skills and confidence.
This year I was one of the participating artists in the Tuia 250 Whitianga Street Art Festival and my work can be seen on display in Whitianga.
