MERCURY BAY ART ESCAPE GALA OPENING & OPEN STUDIOS 2023

Take a weekend to immerse yourself in the inspirational Coromandel. Visit the open studios and chat to the painters, printmakers, sculptors, jewellers, mixed media artists, including the alchemist, who practices the art of creating botanical inks.

Showcasing the diverse artistic culture of our area, the Mercury Bay Art Escape begins at the Hikuai, south of Tairua and winds its way northward up the eastern Coromandel coastline through Hot Water Beach, Hahei, Flaxmill Bay, Cooks Beach, Whitianga township, Kuaotunu to Otama Bay and ending in Matarangi.

The creativity you will discover is a collective of artists inspired not only by the colourful landscape of the Coromandel, but also by the abundance of the surrounding natural environment.

The Mercury Bay Art community is scattered throughout this good for your soul landscape, not only is the Art Escape an inspiration for the local community, but for the many visitors we welcome to our area. Take a weekend to enjoy this unique opportunity to enjoy exceptional art, great food, boutique breweries and welcoming hospitality.

Put this on your calendar as it's a major draw card on the peninsula and national visual arts calendar.
